More Happy Thanksgiving to you all!

Another reason to be thankful.

This reminded me of my sister, Deborah, Chillo my brother and law, and Baby Daniel.

Hmm, food for thought.

A kid favorite Thanksgiving special, like me.
Norman Rockwell, captures people and family in art the way a camera would snap a picture. I love his art.

What all kids think, stop talking and lets eat!

First the Cows says eat more Chicken, now the turkey?

And they say Turkeys are dumb.

I love this art work with the Native Americans.
Happy Thanksgiving to all!

Happy Thanksgiving 2008

Be Thankful for the clothes that fit a little too snuggly because it means that you have enough to eat.

Be Thankful for the mess you clean up after a party because it means you have been surrounded by friends.

Be Thankful for the taxes you pay because it means you are employed.
Be Thankful that your lawn needs mowing and your windows need fixing because it means you have a home. I would be thankful I could walk in heals and have legs like that.

Be Thankful for your heating bill because it means you are warm

Be Thankful for your laundry because it means you have clothes to wear. Buy the looks of this photo, a washer, too.

Be Thankful for the space you found at the far end of the parking lot because it means you can walk.

Be Thankful for the lady who sings off key behind you in church because it means you can hear.
Be Thankful when people complain about the government because it means we have freedom of speech. I'm still glad this country is founded under God and we can voice our voice on those who get carried away with what this country was founded on.

Be Thankful for the alarm that goes off in the early morning hours because it means you are alive. That's me and that's Bayardo sleeping, Hee-Hee. And he can ROAR when he gets up in a bad mood, I still love him.

Ciao for now,

Today we stayed home and bonded

Today, I said to myself and the family, I'm staying home. I forgot that today was Build and Grow at Lowe's, but with all the activities this week, Hannah's performance at the Mesa Arts Center, The kids had Math Night on Thursday, and the parades last week, I wanted to stay home and not go out but order my kids to do their chores. Is that mean? I washed clothes and they cleaned. That's not to much to ask for, is it? After the chores were done, I just read magazines and blogs. Meanwhile the kids made their own skits and recorded them.

Then, someone ruined the moment and said we had no milk, no oil, no bread, I had to go to the store. Ugh, I just wanted to stay home. Good new was that the kids wanted to stay home with their productions. No kids with us! Bayardo and I had lunch at Sam's Club; Jumbo shrimp, lamb with asparagus, meatballs, bonbons, pumpkin cheesecake, and egg nog. Thank goodness for samples, they filled me up!
We came home watched Wall-E and ate popcorn. Afterwards, Bayardo made spaghetti and meatballs. The kids said they had the best day in a long time. Funny how I plan activities and yet the one day we stay home and virtually did nothing, and it was the best day ever! Looking back it was. We spent time as a family and bonded:) Moral: Take a break and just spend time together. It's these moments that last a lifetime.
I loved this movie, Wall-E was so special taking care Eve. He made me laugh so much. Mr. B didn't think so, but the rest of us did. He reminded me of a cross between ET and Short Circuit.

Favorite Book Friday

It's Saturday, I know, Maybe I should call it Favorite Book Weekend, incase I don't have time on Friday. Hmm. However, with my love of books and movies, late or not, I love posting my books.

Well, One of my favorite collection was Beatrix Potter, The Tale of Peter Rabbit, along with his friends.
This charming shop and museum is open to the public every day where you will be served by enthusiastic and knowledgeable volunteers. The house, pictured is the original building used by Beatrix Potter in her wonderful story, The Tailor of Gloucester, in UK.
This picture was painted in 1938 when she was in her 70's.

Helen Beatrix Potter (28 July 1866 – 22 December 1943) was an English author, illustrator, mycologist, and conservationist who was best known for her children's books, which featured animal characters such as Peter Rabbit.
Did you know, In her will, Potter left almost all of her property to the National Trust — 4,000 acres (16 km²) of land, cottages, and 15 farms. The legacy has helped ensure that the Lake District and the practice of fell farming remain unspoiled to this day. Her properties now lie within the Lake District National Park. The Trust's 2005 Swindon headquarters are named "Heelis" in her honour.
Beatrix Potter Gallery, a gallery run by the National Trust and situated in a 17th-century Lake District townhouse in Hawkshead, Cumbria,England, now displays her original book illustrations.
Besides visting the castles in the UK, thus another reason to visit Gloucester, South Kensington, London, and Lake District.

Disney's Alice and Wonderland Jr

Hannah's school had their performance yesterday, Tuesday, November 18Th at the Mesa Arts Center. They performed Disney's Alice in Wonderland. Hannah played the rose with attitude in the play. Unfortunately, we could not take pictures with flash cameras, therefore, my pictures of the performance were so not clear.

The very late rabbit and "Big" Alice.

The Flowers with attitudes. Ayla was very upset with her sister being "evil", "mean", and a "bully". "Mom, how come Hannah's being mean to Alice, she's little and should be nice not mean" Then she yells, "Be nice Hannah" I had to shush her and continue taping. But every now and then you can hear her while I'm taping.
The Golden Afternoon

Hannah's friend Cynetra played TopHatter.
Damon played the Caterpillar, The Company joined in with Zip-ah-dee-doo-dah!

.
There's the flowers with the attitudes, again.
The Queen, who is played by Sah-Dia, Hannah's close friend.
The Finale.

Hannah was greeted first by her biggest fan, Ayla.

Miss Emily, Hannah's Drama Teacher.

Mrs Sue Douglas, her principal.

Hope you enjoyed the clips. Sorry if you couldn't be there.

Gilbert Day's Parade

Gilbert, AZ are having their annual Gilbert Days. This year the town of Gilbert started with their parade the weekend before their rodeo. So today, Saturday the 15th of November, we went to celebrate with their annual parade.
Sheriff Joe Arpaio started off the parade. Bayardo asked why I was taking a picture of him. I thought it was funny how he didn't look to happy with all the Latinos in the crowd and it bugged him that I was waving. Before I waved he smiled at the crowd next to us who where non-Hispanic, hmmm, and they say he's not racist.

You can see the beady glare through his glasses. That was my the start of my laughter. I love parades, I always get teary eyed. As long as there are no clowns! Never like clowns.
We saw many of the dancers & Veteran's that were in the Mesa Veterans Parade earlier this week so I'll spare you duplicate pictures. There were many of religious floats: Lutherans & lots of Non-Denominational Christan Church's. Many advertising companies like Remax and Watson flowers who were actually passing out fresh flowers to mothers, ahh.
We saw all kinds of Bikers.

World War II biker, Ducati Bikers who I chose not to take pictures of, because...
I like real bikers, and...

A double-dutch bike? See spidey?

There were even police officers on bikes going up and down. See the officer going the opposite of the parade? I loved this advertisment; Need your grill replaced? Ha-Ha, right on the grill of the truck. Bayardo asked where were the Biker Boyz, they should be in there....
Who are the Biker Boyz the he refers to?......
The LDS Missionaries:) Which by the way they were not at the parade, I found this image. He thought since there were so many independent churches in the parade, that all the biker boyz and while the sister missionaries ride in the car, should have passed out pictures Christ and Book of Mormons. I told him that wasn't a bad idea, I don't know if they could. So he said that the primary should have a float dressed as biker boyz then. Food for thought. This coming from a non-member speaking very seriously about spreading the word of Christ, and yet...may be someday. Anyways,

Here are girl scouts spreading their word of RECYCLE!.

Another trash statement.
There were belly dancers,
Mexican Dancers,
Wizard of Oz dancers,
and Asian Dancers. We were Celebrating!
Tiger even was there, actually it was the mascot for Gilbert High.
There were horses with..
the Sheriff's Posse,
Arabian,
Ms. Rodeo,

What the...Bayardo and the kids look on,
Even two legged, walking horses?!
There were all kinds of cars,
Fast Ferrari Cars, lil' cars (how and the world did that full grown man fit?),

Even Flintstone cars!
This poor boy, he hardly had room in his box. He still has 2 miles to walk through the parade!

And a sleigh...
Yes, it was a fun parade for all.
